Be prepared, to avoid the deadly H1N1 Flu!
What exactly is H1N1 Flu anyway:
It's a new strain of swine type A influenza, which mutated from pigs, and along the way, jumped species, into humans. Yes, pigs can get the flu, but death is rare in their cases. From them, it's been passed from human to human, like any normal flu. The first time the more classic swine flu was noted - it doesn't normally infect humans - was back in 1930. The best defenses are keeping your hands clean and even sneezing into your sleeve.
Tips to prevent the H1N1 Flu:
1. Avoid body contact with people who might be sick, including normal cold or flu. If you have to, wear a mask.
2. The best defenses are keeping your hands clean. Wash your hands frequently with plenty of hot water and soap and rub vigorously with hand sanitizer, especially after being in contact with people or public. Particularly important during holiday travel.
3. Cover with tissue when you cough or sneeze.
4. If you develop cold or flu symptoms, particularly after in contact with people who have been to overseas, please go to the hospital immediately wearing a mask.
5. Eat healthy diet rich with Vitamin C, including plenty of vegetables and fruits, and drink plenty of fluid, particularly fresh juice. Garlic is reported to be helpful as well.
6. It's still a good time to review common-sense rules about handling food, including washing vegetables and fruits and making sure all meat is well cooked. Organic and all natural foods are the best.
